Here it is, Christmas Day evening. The kids are in bed and the gifts are somewhat organized. We told our families our big news yesterday. After the shock wore off, everyone was excited and happy for us! The kids all enjoyed their presents and we had a great morning watching them open their gifts from Santa. I just love how they accept Santa without question. So innocent. I would like to request, however, that next year Santa assmebles all the toys he leaves, as it took a good chunk of time out of our morning!! Our Christmas was a good one and I hope yours was, too.

Getting Closer!
Today is December 22. I had my 12 week appointment a week early. The heart rate was 160 and I've lost 12 pounds. What's going on there? My pre-pregnancy jeans are falling off me! Doc said the bleed they saw on the ultrasound will just be re-absorbed and is nothing to worry about. So, the plan is to tell the family on Christmas Eve. Expect a freak out.

Pop Up!
Owen turned five on Sunday. Here's the conversation he and I had about his birthday.
Owen: When will I be five?
Me: At 11:20 this morning.
Owen: Do you think I will FEEL it?
Me: I don't know.
Owen: Tell me when it's time, because I'm going to stand really still. I bet I'll pop up.
Me: OK, I'll let you know. (Laughing on the inside.)
He is just so thoughtful. He amazes me. We laugh about the things he says every day.

Ahhhh...
I had my 9 week 3 day ultrasound today. The baby measured 9 weeks 1 day and was moving all around! We could see the little heart beat flickering, too. So cool. They did find a cyst, probably a corpus luteum cyst, in my right ovary. And there was a little (old) bleed next to the amniotic sac, probably from implantation. Neither are of any concern. So, we are relieved, not only for a healthy baby, but also for just ONE healthy baby. If all goes as planned, our family will be complete.

8 weeks, 2 days
I had my first "official" ob check-up on December 2nd. Doc found the heartbeat in less than a minute (it was 162) and did another blood test. My hcg came back at over 134,000 and progesterone was 24.4. The nurse was laughing at how high the hcg was! I get to have an ultrasound next week. I am SO excited. I'm still very nauseous, have diarrhea and am extremely tired.
The best news? Melissa just found out she is pregnant, too. We are 1 month apart! We're going to tell the parents together. She's waiting for me. I'm waiting until I can't hide it anymore. Might end up being sooner than I thought as its already getting hard to "suck it in". Hopefully I can at least make it until Christmas!
